Preserving a Culture
Preserving a Culture is a story that supports the preserving of an old native language, Inuktitut. Leah Otak is the woman that sees that this culture that she once lived in is now leaving everyone. Leah decides to start doing something about this, trying to keep her childhood preserved. She comes across these tape recordings of this university student that recorded the Inuit Leadership. There was so much vocabulary in these tapes they got the idea to start recording storeys their grandparents told to them when they were little.

An Olympic Moment
Summery
An Olympic Moment is a story about Gaetan Boucher, a Canadian Speed Skater. Gaetan went to the Winter Olympics in 1976, sadly winning no medals for himself. The next Winter Olympics Gaetan was confident in himself he was going to win a medal. In his couple he was paired up with Eric Heiden. Heiden won by 1 1/2 seconds. After all the pairs had raced Boucher had placed 2nd, giving him a silver medal. This is the only medal he got that year. The next Winter Olympics, Boucher heard that the flag carrier did bad the next day of the Games. Boucher was confident that he would win a medal. The next day in the 500-meter race he won the a silver, to go along with his bronze from the year before. Four days later in the 1000-meter race, he won by 1 second. Two days later he would win the gold in the 1500-meter race. In the 1988 Olympics he had his last race of him Olympic career in the 1500-meter race. Starting he had the fastest time at the 300-meter mark. Feeling the pressure from being in his home town, Calgary, he started to slow down. People in the stands going crazy cheering for him to keep going, he started to slow down dramatically and lose the race.
